Our Story: More Than 40 Years of Making and Managing Parts the Right Way
From a small aluminum foundry to a global manufacturing and sourcing partner, J&B Industrial has spent more than five decades earning the trust of the people who keep production lines running.
How We Got Here
1960: It Started With a Foundry
The J&B story actually began in 1960 with the opening of an aluminum foundry manufacturing machined components for racing motorcycles. This introduction into the world of metal casting soon outran motorcycles, and over the next 25 years, it spawned a full-service foundry organization producing foundry patterns, tooling, and a wide range of aluminum, bronze, and iron castings. In 1985, Jerry Hall and Bob Helmuth changed direction, formed J&B Industrial Services and ventured from the casting manufacturing industry into a service organization offering assistance to customers in the procurement of tooling and all manner of cast products. With our foundry background, we were able to assist and become the “one-stop” shop for tooling, castings, machining and managing customers’ inventory. In 2000, to assure quality products and positive deliveries, we initiated another change in our organization. We built our first building, bought our first CNC lathe along with some manual machinery and started producing full, finished and inventoried products for our customers. Now, with the best staff available, we have grown to over 66,000 square feet, 29 CNC machines, full CAD/CAM engineering facilities, automated precision laser cutting, ISO 9001:2015 certified and a JIT stocking program to service a wide range of products and a wide variety of customers.
1985: A New Direction
In 1985, Jerry Hall and Bob Helmuth changed course and founded J&B Industrial Services, moving from casting manufacturing into a service organization that helped customers procure tooling and cast products of every kind. Their foundry background made J&B a natural fit as a one-stop shop for tooling, castings, machining, and managing customer inventory. Customers no longer had to chase down separate suppliers for each step.
2000: Bringing Production In-House
To take firmer control of quality and delivery, J&B built its first building, purchased its first CNC lathe along with supporting machinery, and began producing finished, inventoried parts directly for customers. This was the turning point that moved J&B from a coordinator of work to a manufacturer in its own right, accountable for the parts that left the building.
Today: A Global Single-Source Partner
J&B now runs more than 66,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, 29 CNC machines, full CAD and CAM engineering, automated precision laser cutting, an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system, and a just-in-time stocking program. That capacity is backed by owned operations across the United States, China, India, and the Middle East. The foundry roots are still visible in how the company works: close to the metal, close to the customer, and unwilling to ship a part it would not stand behind.
From One-Stop Shop to Single-Source Partner
The phrase J&B used in the early days was a one-stop shop. What the company has built since is something more demanding: a single-source partner that owns the process from end to end. J&B is not a pass-through broker that hands your order to a shop you will never see. The company owns its overseas manufacturing, employs engineering and sourcing teams in the regions where it operates, and runs logistics in-house. Every part moves through J&B’s own people, systems, and quality controls. That is the difference between a vendor that places your order and a partner that is accountable for the result.
Putting Down Roots Around the World
J&B did not chase the lowest bid overseas. The company put its own people on the ground. Today that includes an owned manufacturing facility in China, plus engineering and sourcing teams across India and the Middle East. The Middle East presence is a genuine point of difference, since many suppliers can claim a footprint in China but very few operate where J&B does. For customers, that means local relationships, local oversight, and a partner already established in markets others cannot reach.
What Has Not Changed
Commitment at Every Level
From customer care to ongoing product development, the people at J&B treat each order as their own. Commitment shows up at every step, not just at the front desk.
Quality Without Compromise
J&B built its reputation on delivering only parts it would put its name on. That standard is now backed by an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system and documented traceability on every job.
Service That Earns the Next Order
The goal has always been to meet and exceed what customers need, then do it again. Long-standing relationships, not one-time transactions, are how J&B measures success.
